森末圭さんが創作した「目覚まし時計」です。
タイトルは「起きんかい!!!／Get Up!!!"」。

Today's model is a Clock.
"Get Up!!!" designed by Kei Morisue.
１枚の正方形から、こんなにユニークな作品が生まれるなんて驚きです。何食ったらこんなアイディアが出てくるんでしょうね…
I wonder how such a unique work can be born from one square paper.

折り図は非公開なのですが、うちのサークルのまさくんがイベントで入手したものを見せてもらいました。
折り図の工程数は134。複雑系としてはそんなに多い方ではないんですけど、内容は中々にハードでした。
「行けるっしょ〜」と軽い気持ちで挑んだ35cmホイルでは、何とか完走したものの微妙な仕上がりに。勿体ないので、本番に備えて実験台としていじくり回します。
The diagram has not been published, but fortunately a friend of mine shared me who joined his event.
It has 134 steps, not so long among common complex models. But it was pretty tough.
Originally I tried with 35cm foil paper, I barely finished but the shape was so poor.
I decided to use this prototype for practice and try again.

折り図でも難しかったので、展開図折りの難度はご想像にお任せします。

It was pretty difficult even with the diagram, CP will be extremely hard.
本番で使った素材は、昨年のコンベンションでキム・ドンヒョンさんから貰ったもの。たぶん35cmです。
玉虫紙のような光沢や和紙感に、ホイルのように形がキマる。そして引っ張りにもそこそこ強い。コレどこで売ってるんだろ。普通に買いたい。
Next I used a paper that I got from Mr. Kim Dong Hyeon last year. It's around 35cm.
Its gloss & texture are like "Tamamushi (Iridescent)", and the shape is easily adjusted like a foil paper. In addition, it's moderately durable. I love this material, where to buy?
これくらいは言っても大丈夫かと思うので解説しますが、ベースは「風車の基本形」。
四隅で文字盤のインデックスを作り、正八角形の箱を作るイメージです。
It starts with "Pinwheel base". Make four indexes from each corner, the assemble into a octagon box.
あやめの基本形みたいに畳んでから細部を仕込んだら、後半で一気に膨らませて整形します。めっちゃ面白い。
どうしても中心に負荷がかかるので、破れないように細心の注意を払います。
Fold it like "Iris base", and make details. Then shape by expanding at once. So interesting!
The center of a paper will be inevitably overused, so I must take care.
それにしても、こんなツル星人みたいなビジュアルから目覚まし時計になるなんて、想像もつきませんね。
Anyway it's amazing that such a strange appearance will be a clock.
膨らませて、形を整えたところ。
針の形は、先端がシャープになるよう、私好みにアレンジしました。
After expanding
I added my touch on Hour/Minute hand to be sharp.
余った領域で「脚」を折り出すのは、仕上げの鬼・えぃくんのパクリです。
I made legs referring to Eikun's post.
ノリ入れ、全体の微調整を経て完成です！！！
さっそくNOA折紙シンポジウムの会場に飾らせていただきました。
Insert glue and adjust the overall shape, completed.
