第29回折紙探偵団コンベンション【全体・ギャラリー編】／29th Origami Tanteidan Convention【Exhibition】

Today's topic is an event report!

日本折紙学会（JOAS）主催「第29回折紙探偵団コンベンション」に行ってきました！
期間は8/10(土)〜8/11(日)。
翌日の特別講演は所用によりパスしましたが、それでもハイパー濃密な２日間でした。

I joined "29th Origami Tanteidan Convention" organized by Japan Origami Academic Society (JOAS), in Aug10th-11st.
Even though I skipped the special event on third day, it was so exciting & precious two days!

今回は【全体・ギャラリー編】【講習編】の２部に分けて記事を書きます。
盛りだくさんのコンベンションを、違った角度からお届けします。
まずは前半【全体・ギャラリー編】です。
１日目の夕方に立ち寄った、コタさんの初個展「rose impact」のレポートもお見逃しなく！！

I'll separate the report into "Exhibition" and "Workshops", you can enjoy the event from different view.
Today I'll show you "Exhibition".
And there's a report about "rose impact", the first solo exhibition by Kota. Don't miss it!

記事に入る前に…
今回の日本折紙学会（JOAS）「折紙探偵団コンベンション」と、日本折紙協会（NOA）「折紙シンポジウム」は異なります。
「全国のオリガミストが集まる恒例イベント」という意味では共通ですが、客層や内容、雰囲気などは「まったく別物」と言って良いでしょう。
両者の違いは、先月参加したNOAシンポのレポートの後半に詳しく書きましたので、併せてご覧くださいませ。

First of all, Origami Tanteidan Convention" by Japan Origami Academic Society (JOAS), is different from "Origami Symposium" by Nippon Origami Association (NOA).
They are same in "An annual event that Origamists gather from over Japan", on the other hand participant type, contents, and mood are completely different.

初日・午前９時。
すでに強烈な炎天下、会場となる東京大学弥生キャンパスの門をくぐります。

The first day, 9:00AM
Under the extremely hot sunshine, we entered the venue, Tokyo university.

受付はこの時点で大行列です。
前日夜の地震をうけ、参加をためらう人もいるかな…と思ったらナメてました。皆、折り紙の呼び声には逆らえないのでしょう。
かくいう私も、非常食などの「３日生存セット」をかついでフル参加したのですが。

Reception was already crowded.
I wondered some hesitates to join due to the earthquake last night, but it was wrong. Origami calls origamists strongly.
Anyway I brought some emergency foods in advance.

受付を済ませて、メイン会場の一条ホールに入ります。
昨年お会いした方との再会を喜び合うことができるのは、やはり現地参加の醍醐味です。
SNSあるある「HN知ってるけど初対面」という方との出会いが頻発するのもコンベンションの面白いところ。
３回目の参加にして、だんだん「オフ会」の要素が強くなってきた気もします。

Ichijo hall, the mein venue.
We can interact and share the joy of reunion with many origamist who I met last year, this is unique to Off-line event. And some people met for the first time, that they only know their handle name each other.
I've been the event three times, I'm looking forward to these moment.

開会式のあとは、ゲスト作家による特別講演。
海外で活躍するトップランナーの話を生で聞ける、たいへん貴重な機会です。
今年はフランス在住の合谷哲哉さん、韓国のキム・ジンウさんが招かれました。
特に印象的だったのは、展覧会における折り紙の展示方法です。
合谷さんは作品の真上に展開図や途中工程を大きく掲げ、より「折り紙感」を演出していること。
キムさんが率いる韓国の折紙団体「Origami Pro」では、白一色の作品を照明でドラマティックに仕上げていること。
どちらも今後の活動に大きなヒントを与えてくれる、大満足な内容でした。
キムさんが「折り紙よりダンスに没頭していた」とのこと、元ブレイカーとして勝手に親近感。

After the opening ceremony, special lectures by two guests from overseas. It's really valuable opportunity that the front runners in origami talk nearby.
This year, Mr. Gotani Tetsuya from France & Mr. Kim Jin Woo from Korea were invited.
I was especially impressed is their unique technique in exhibition.
Mr. Gotani shows the reality of origami, by displaying some unfolded models or in progress above the completed ones.
Mr. Kim is the leader of "Origami Pro" group, and they made all works with white and illuminated them dramatically by considering the angle thoroughly.
Both case were so useful for about my activity in the future.

さて、１日目の午後から始まる怒涛の講習は後半【講習編】に譲るとして、コンベンションの目玉「ギャラリー」をご覧ください。
国内外の作家・プレイヤーが腕をふるう、圧巻の作品たちです。
今年は教室が増えたぶん展示スペースが減りましたが、作品の多様性・クオリティは見応えたっぷり。

Now I'll show the report 【Exhibition】, overwhelming masterpieces made by origamists all over the world.
Even though the exhibition space has decreased due to the expansion of workshop, we mustn't miss their diversity & quality.

まずはゲスト作家さんの作品。
合谷哲哉さん。
リアルさに加えて、面を上手に使ったバランスの良さが印象的でした。


Mr. Gotani Tetsuya
His works are not only real but also well-balanced that uses the surface wide.

キム・ジンウさん
同氏は「バジリスク」が有名です（写真右）。
二枚貝と魚をインサイド・アウトで表現した「The giant clam and fish（巨大な貝と魚）」がベストヒット。

Mr. Kim Jin Woo
"Basilisk" especially famous among his works.
"The giant clam and fish" was the most impressive for me that shell & fish are designed of one paper.

３日目の特別イベントに招かれたゲスト作家、ロシアのエカテリーナ・ルカシェヴァさん。
曲線の折り目を駆使した「模様折り」の作品群は、あまりのインパクトと美しさに絶句してしまいました。
実はルカシェヴァさんの講習を２日目に受けることになるのですが…そこでまさかの展開が待っていました。お楽しみに。

Ms. Ekaterina Lukasheva, she's a guest of day3's session.
Her works that applied curved creases, they were so stunning that I was lost for words.
Actually I joined her workshop on day2, there's an amazing situation. Stay tuned.

それから、参加者の方々が持ち寄った圧倒的作品たち。
もはや言葉はいりません。続けてご覧くださいませ。
And there're outstanding works brought by participants, you'll know their wonderfulness without words!

こちらは恒例、創作折り紙人気投票。
今年のテーマは、干支「巳」、つまりヘビです。
出るわ出るわ。
ヤバイ、エグイ、カッコいい。そして面白い。
An annual event "The best work by the votes", this year's theme is (Chinese) Zodiac “Snake”.
There were stunning, dope &cool!

第１位に輝いたのは、佐藤悠樹さんの「ゾウを飲み込んだウワバミ」。
一見すると大きな帽子、透かすとゾウのシルエットが現れる！！
サン＝テグジュペリの某小説をモチーフにした、「分かる人には分かる」、感動的な発想の作品です。
数々の超絶技巧を相手にアイディア勝負を真っ向から挑み、鮮やかに大賞をかっさらっていきました。
技術レベルの高さだけでは、目の肥えたオリガミストたちのハートは掴めない。すごい時代になったものです。

Winner was "Boa constrictor digesting an elephant" designed by Mr. Yuki Sato.
At first glance it's like just a hat. When seeing through the light, an elephant appears.
It's inspired by "Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince)", amazingly unique idea.
He challenged with only his original idea to various complex models, and won.
High technique alone can't catch the heart, for discerning current origamists these days.

最後は殿堂入り作家・豊村高志さんによる「ツタンカーメン王 黄金のマスク」。
世界トップレベルの作品が並ぶ中でも異彩を放っています。
表舞台に姿を見せず、しれっと超絶作品だけ残していく同氏の存在は、もはや神格化しているといっても過言ではありません。今年もやってくれました。
しかし。
なぜツタンカーメン…
と、思いきや。

This is "THE GOLD MASK OF TUTANKHAMUN" designed by Mr. Takashi Toyomura, the Hall of Fame Origamist.
It was outstanding among the world-class masterpieces.
He never appears to the public, just only leaves a superb work. Now his existence is almost deified.
Well I can't find the snake...

続いて、コタさんの初個展「rose impact」のレポートです。
コンベンション１日目を早めに抜けて、新宿デートをしてきたというKeikoさん・ちなちゃんと練馬駅で合流。
長山海澄さんの初個展「星を折る」以来、１年ぶりに「MARIMO cafe 65」を訪れました。

Now I'll report about "rose impact", the first solo exhibition by Kota.
After leaving convention venue early, I met Keiko & Chinatsu at Nerima station, and visited "MARIMO cafe 65" for the first time in a year.

いきなり３人を釘付けにしたのは、美しいダークブルーのバラ。
夜を待ちわびるような重い青色に、思わず目線が引き込まれます。
スタードリームの独特な光沢に、煌びやかなラメが散りばめられ、涙に濡れた眼差しのようにドラマティックな光景がありました。

We were suddenly forced to stop in front of a beautiful dark-blued rose.
A heavy blue like waiting for midnight catches an eye inevitably.
Gloss on stardream material, and sparkling glitter on it, there's a dramatic view like teary-eye.

青バラを眺めているだけで終電を逃しそうになる気がしたので、部屋中に飾られた色とりどりのバラたちに目を向けます。
あまりのインパクトに、なかなか着席しないサークルの面々。







Time goes by forever while we're watching blue rose, so shifted our gaze to various roses displayed around the room.
Their IMPACT was so strong as well that we hardly look away.

花弁のばらつき、ガク先のちぢれ、剪定の跡など、本当に芸が細かい。
葉も凝っていて、形状や紙質のバリエーションの多さに驚かされます。葉脈は手作業でつけているとのこと。

Misaligned petals, frizzy calyxes, pruning marks, they're made really elaborately.
Leaves are made by using various materials and they have countless variations. And more, leaf veins are applied by his own hands.

何をどう生活したら、こんなアイディアが舞い降りるのでしょうか。
彼の心が綺麗なのは間違いなさそうですが、少なくとも私が夜景を見ながらロゼワインを飲んでも浮かんでこないでしょう。

I don't know how he comes up with such an idea, at least I can't do it at all.

やっとクリームソーダで一服。
コンベンションの感想を共有したり、即席のバラ講座をやっていただいたり、とても充実した時間を過ごすことができました。

Break time with some drink.
We shared the impression of convention, or make rose together, it was so fulfilling time.

コタさん初個展「rose impact」は、2024.08.25まで開催です。

2024折紙シンポジウムin九十九里レポート！／Origami Symposium 2024 report

今日は、6/30(金)-7/2(火)に開催された「2024折紙シンポジウム」のレポートをお届けいたします。

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Today I'll report about Origami Symposium 2024 held from Jun 30th to Jul 2nd.

今年の会場は千葉・九十九里。
昨年は広島でしたが、関東圏であれば行けそう…
ということで、思い切って休暇をとり、フル参加してきました。

This year it was held in Chiba Pref, next to Tokyo.
Last year was in Hiroshima so I couldn't go because of it's too far, this year I decided to join while taking a vacation.

結論。
とっても良かったです！
事前情報があまりなく不安でしたが、有意義で楽しく、実りのある濃厚な３日間でした。
本記事では、SNSにはあまり出回っていないシンポジウムの様子を、できる限りレポートしていきます。長いです！

As a result, it was so wonderful!!!
I was worried because there's few review about that, but I spent useful & precious time.
Now I report about this event that we rarely find on social media as much as possible.

☘️☘️序章／Introduction☘️☘️

折紙シンポジウムは、日本折紙協会（NOA）が主催の、愛好家・作家さん・協会関係者などが一堂に会する大きなイベントです。
開催場所は毎年変わります。
去年は広島、今年は千葉…という感じで、東日本〜西日本を行ったり来たり。
数百人規模のキャパがある大きな会場を拠点に、２泊３日の濃密な時間を過ごすのです。

Origami Symposium is an annual event organized by Nippon Origami Association (NOA), a lot of origami fan, creators, and NOA members are gathered.
The venue is changed every year.
Based in a venue with hundreds of people, they spend deep three days.

参加費は２泊＋食事付きで43,000円。
正会員価格につき、非会員は5,000円プラス、宿を自前で手配する「宿泊しないプラン」を選択した場合は、5,000円安くなります。
申込＆支払いは「東京おりがみミュージアム」のオンラインショップに購入メニューがあり、web決済が可能。これは嬉しいです。
（イベント終了につき、すでに項目は削除されています）
ホテルにシングルルームがなく「相部屋制」だったのですが、事務局に聞いたら「+6,000円で１人部屋にできる」とのこと。もちろんコッチもweb即決。助かる〜！！

年間購読/更新/申請料/登録料/賛助会員origami-noa.myshopify.com

Entry fee is ¥43,000 including 3days & 2nights with meals. Non-memberships cost +¥5,000, and a plan without accommodation is -¥5,000.
I'm glad we can pay all on NOA website.
The event was basically a shared room system because there was no single room, but the organizer allowed me to stay there alone for ¥6,000 when I asked in advance.

日が近づくにつれて、事前アンケートで各種講習の参加希望、最寄駅からの送迎バスの利用有無などを聞かれます。
プログラム、持ち物、注意事項などの事前情報も届き、このあたりで徐々に全容が明らかになってきます。
・初日は１３時の開会式に間に合えばＯＫ
・ギャラリーを設けるので、飾りたい作品があれば持ち込み可
・開会式の横断幕や式次第を装飾するため、１人１点作品を持ち寄ってほしい（15cm×15cmに収まるサイズ）
などなど。
次々と湧いてくる細かな疑問には、事務局の方がメールでこまめに答えてくれたので、安心して当日を迎えることができました。
（ご丁寧にありがとうございます！！）

As the day draws closer, I received some questionnaires about participation in each program, use of shuttle bus etc.
And I could check the overall program, belonging list, and some notices.
・On the first day, we only need to arrive at 13:00 opening ceremony
・There's a space that we can display each own origami works
・Need to bring one origami work that will be decorated on the stage...etc.
When I have some question, the organizer kindly replied on e-mail. Thank you so much!

ホテルの情報は「サンライズ九十九里」の公式サイトから確認しました。
各種アメニティやコインランドリーなどの設備、車で行く際のアクセスなど、できる限り調べてイメトレ。
（トレーニングルームがあれば完璧…と思ったけど、実際そんなヒマはなかったです！）

折り紙バラ×レジン・第４弾は「CANARY YELLOW 」／Sato rose with Resin(Vol.3)

アトリエまさにぃへ、ようこそ。
佐藤ローズのレジン加工、今度はヴィヴァルディのCANARY YELLOW（カナリーイエロー）を試してみました。

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Sato rose with Resin, today I tried Vivaldi "CANARY YELLOW".

太陽光のような黄色がやや落ち着き、しっとり品のある風合いに仕上がりました。良きです。

Bright yellow like a sunlight turned calm, soft & gentle. I like it!

加工はおなじみのブローチに。
そろそろ他のバリエーションも考えたいところです。
職場の女性陣からは「ヘアゴム」という案が上がっています。サイズ的にも確かにアリかも。

And I processed it to a brooch as usual.
I wonder there're some other variations. My colleague suggested hair band, it's worth doing that.

他の色との組み合わせも映えます。
やはり、同じ形の方が統一感がありますね。

It suits the other colors.
As I thought the same models have an affinity.

■モデル
バラ折り紙の代表格「佐藤ローズ」のアレンジです。
佐藤ローズの中でも人気の高いハイブリッドティーローズに、かおりんさん独自のカールを加えました。
（勝手に「かおりんメソッド」と呼んでいます）
ＨＴを折れる方なら、そんなにハードではありません。

■Model
"Sato rose" that is known as a representative of Origami rose.
I deformed "Hybrid tea rose" that is the most popular of them, by adding curls.
This technique was created by Kaorin, I call it "Kaorin's method".
It's not so difficult if you can make HT.
How to make is posted on my past articles.

ＨＴそのものは、佐藤ローズの祖・佐藤直幹さんの著書を参照。
・①１枚の紙からつくるバラの折り紙
・②本物みたいなバラの折り紙

How to make Hybrid tea rose is listed in the first & third textbook of sato rose.

■素材
すべてヴィヴァルディ。
フランス・キャンソン社製。名古屋にある紙専門店「紙の温度」で購入できます（ロールで買ってる）。
いつもの佐藤ローズで使っている25cm×25cmを切り出した余り（15cmのオビ）を正方形にカット、そこから五角形を作ってベースとしています。
かなり細かい作業になるので、25cmと比べて倍くらい時間がかかりますが、まぁ慣れです。
・第１回目：DARK RED／BUTTER CUP
・第２回目：ROYAL BLUE／SKY BLUE
・第３回目：ROSE PETAL／RED

■Material
These are all made of Vivaldi, manufactured by Canson.
In Japan, we can get at Kamino-ondo's online store.
I prepared 15cm leftover that was cut from one original size (after cutting usual 25cm×25cm).
And I cut it into pentagon, this is the starting point.
The process will be pretty dedicated and it takes twice as long as usual 25cm, but it's no problem if you used to doing.
・First：DARK RED／BUTTER CUP
・Second：ROYAL BLUE／SKY BLUE
・Third：ROSE PETAL／RED

■レジン加工
レジンアクセサリー認定講師、カイオロヒアさん、cherry307yさんの影響で機材を買い揃えました。
・マシン：Aokitec製 UV-LEDネイルライト78W
・液：パジコ製 UV-LEDコーティングレジン「星の雫 GLOSS」

■Resin coating
I bought all equipments, being inspired by Kaiolohia & Cherry307, the official resin instructor.
・UV-LED light： Aokitec
・Resin liquid：PADICO

今回のイエローをもって、１本まるまる使い切ってしまいました。なので楽天で同じものをおかわり。まさかこんなにハマるとは…
ニスを塗った後にレジン加工をすると変色しない、というアドバイスは実践できていませんが…どこかでやります。

This time I used the liquid all up, so I bought again. I never thought that I would be addicted.
She taught me that the original color can be kept by applying varnish in advance, but I haven't tried yet, in the near future.

佐藤ローズのマイブーム（波）は定期的に訪れるようです。
2019年に佐藤直幹さんとお会いしてから早5年、ざっと数えたけれど、通算150個以上作ってました。

I'd like to make Sato rose regularly since I met dear Mr. Naomiki Sato in 2019, I've made over 150 roses so far.

世界中で親しまれ、「かおりんメソッド」はじめとする多くのアレンジが生まれている人気ジャンル、これからも大いに楽しんでいきたいと思います。
（もちろん、他の作品もたくさん折っていきます）

Sato rose is popular all over the world and there're countless variations like Kaorin's method, I'll enjoy a lot from now on (Of course the other models too!).

折り紙バラ×レジン、懲りずに第３弾〜鮮やかレッドとコーラルピンク／Sato rose with Resin(Vol.3)

前回・前々回とお届けしているレジンシリーズ、今回は「赤・ピンク」をお届けします！

I'll show you "Red & Pink roses with Resin", continuing to the past two posts.

第１弾はBUTTE CUPとDARK RED。

First time：BUTTE CUP & DARK RED

第２弾はROYAL BLUEとSKY BLUE。

Second time：ROYAL BLUE & SKY BLUE

で、今日は…
淡いピンクの「ROSE PETAL」
純粋な赤色「RED」
こちらの２色をご用意しました。

And today, pale pink ROSE PETAL, and primary RED.

コーティング＋アクセサリー加工後の写真はこちら。
まずは「ROSE PETAL」から。
きれいなコーラルピンクに仕上がりました。大当たりです！

After processing.
ROSE PETAL has been finished precise Coral pink, I like it!

続いてRED。
適度な鮮やかさが残る、大人びたDARK REDに変身しました。これは理想的な風合いです。

RED has been finished adult DARK RED with moderate vividness, it's an ideal texture.

それぞれのBefore-After。
かなり色が変化していることが分かります。
濃くなることは予測できても、暖色寄りorダークカラーなどの方向性が、硬化させるまでまったく分からないんですよね。かえってクセになりそうです。

Comparing both.
The colors have been changed a lot.
Even though I can forecast that the color will turn deep, the direction of warmness or coolness couldn't be. Interesting!

はい、今日はさくっと報告でした！
所要時間は、バラ１Ｈ＋レジン１Ｈ＝２Ｈといったところでしょうか。

I reported in brief.
Making one rose and coating, each takes an hour.

２０〜３０分前後で作れる無加工のバラとは違い、ポンポン量産するわけにはいきませんが、箱詰めできる程度には揃いました。
ＮＯＡのシンポジウムとＪＯＡＳのコンベンションに持っていこうっと。
会場の皆さん、一度見てやってくださいませ。

Different from a nomal Sato rose that takes 20-30min, I can't make them a lot. But There's an assortment in a box.
I'll bring them in NOA Origami Symposium & JOAS Origami Tanteidan Convention.

折り紙バラ×レジン・第２弾〜ふたつの青色〜 ／Sato rose with Resin(Vol.2)

アトリエまさにぃへ、ようこそ。
Welcome to Atelier masanii.

前回、初挑戦のレジンコーティング。
その魅力に味をしめ、またチャレンジしてみました。今度は青色です！

I challenged Resin coating on the latest post, I did it again. Today I made blue!

モデルはもちろん佐藤ローズ。
赤や黄色の暖色系は定番ですが、青色も人気が高いんですよね。
周りの空気がキリッと引き締まる感じ。これから来る夏にピッタリです。
撮影のお供には横浜・山手にある人気洋菓子店「えの木てい」のギフトボックスを用意しました。普段は腕時計を入れています。

Of course I chose Sato rose.
Warm color like red or yellow are naturally popular, but also blue is also nice.
It has a coolness like the surroundings freeze, suitable for summer.
I prepared a gift box which I got in Enoki-tei in Yamate, YOKOHAMA.
I always use it as a watch case.

素材はヴィヴァルディのROYAL BLUEとSKY BLUE。
サイズも前回同様15cmです。しんどいけど慣れてきました。

I used Vivaldi ROYAL BLUE and SKY BLUE.
Size were also 15cm, same as the previous post.
It was tough but I got somewhat used to making.

まずBefore。
こちらは加工前の状態。無難にまとまりました。
ROYAL BLUEは、通常のハイブリッドティーローズ。
SKY BLUEは、ＨＴの「かおりんメソッド」。
つまり、前回の完全な色違いですね。

Before processing.
I could make them pretty good.
ROYAL BLUE：Hybrid tea rose
SKY BLUE：HT "Kaorin's method"
The only differences from the previous are colors.

そしてAfter。
予想通り色がかなり濃くなりましたが、これはこれでいい味が出ています。

After processing.
As I expected the colors became pretty dark, but so cool.

さて、レポートいきましょう。
（詳しい制作風景は前回に譲ります。）
まずはヴィヴァルディの切れ端から正方形→五角形にカット、そこから教科書どおりに作っていきます。
とはいえ小さいのでピンセットと爪楊枝は欠かせません。指太いので。

Let's report.
(More details about Resin processing are introduced on the previous post.)
First,
Leftover of Vivaldi → 15cm square → Cut into pentagon → Make normally
I must use tweezers and toothpicks because my fingers are pretty thick.

前回は盛大に穴があきましたが、同じ失敗は２度もやりません。
裏側も、綺麗にふっくら星型になりました。

Last time, the center happened to be torn. No more mistake!
I took care and succeeded even the back side. It shaped like a star.

ひとまず完成。
中心の穴の大きさは、全体のバランスを見ながら微調整しました。

Completed all steps.
The width of central petals should be adjusted while comparing to the overall shape.

さて、いよいよレジン加工です！

Resin coating!

まずはSKY BLUEから。
液が染み込むと、かなり色が濃くなります。

SKY BLUE
The color becomes dark as the liquid seeped in.

とりあえず全面をコーティングしたところ。
かなり良い発色です！
ブルーの風合いは、AZURE BLUEに近いですね。
一度塗っただけでは表面がざらつくので、ここから何度か重ね塗りしていきます。

First coating.
The color came out so cool! It's like AZURE BLUE.
Now the surface is a little rough, so I so I applied multiple coats.

色ムラを発見。やってしまいました。
しかし、ここまで来たら直しようがありません。
硬化させる前に、まんべんなく浸透させておくべきでした。仕方ないので重ね塗りで誤魔化します。

I found color unevenness.
Unfortunately there's no going back. I should have check carefully before hardening.
There's no choice so I concealed by multiple coating.

ヒタヒタにしたところ。
良い感じに仕上がりました。
加工前と見比べると、けっこう印象が変わりますね〜。

After multiple coat.
It finished so good!
Comparing to before processing, the appearance has changed a lot.

勢いに任せて、ROYAL BLUEもやっちゃいました。
前回のDARK REDと同様かなり濃くなりました。紺色…いや、濃紺です。

Then I processed ROYAL BLUE.
It turned pretty dark. Like Navy blue.

それぞれのBefore-After。
元々の素朴な「紙」の実感も好きですが、そこにガラス細工のような透明感、それに陶器のような光沢が加わりました。もはや別物ですね。

Comparing before & after
I like the rustic texture of paper, in addition transparency like a glass art, and luster like a pottery were applied. It has changed dramatically!

いよいよアクセサリー作りに着手します。
今回の台座は、手芸屋さんで買ったヘアクリップ。
まずは液ダレ防止のため、裏面をテープで止めてからレジンで穴を塞ぎます。
あとは追加で液を流し込んでバラをセット。液量が多いので長めに（１分くらい）硬化させれば…

Now attaching to the base.
I prepared a hair clip bought at crafts store.
Seal the back side and plug the hole by Resin so that it doesn't drip.
Then add the liquid and set the rose.
After hardening for a long time (about one min)...

完成です！！！
嫁ぎ先は未定。

Completed!
I wonder who to give them to...

お楽しみの撮影タイム。
タントを背景に横からの自然光、これも前回同様です。
ちなみに冒頭に紹介したグレー背景もタントです。
直射日光だとテカテカになってしまうので、紙の端を折り返して屋根を作っています。

Shooting time
I prepared Tant paper as a background and let horizontal sunlight into the model, same as the previous post.
And the gray photos that I introduce above are also Tant.
When it is exposed to direct sunlight, the surface tends to be too shiny, so I applied roof by bending the background paper.

レジン×佐藤ローズ・第２弾「青バラ編」をお送りしました。
やればやるほど、奥が深い世界ですね〜！
緊張感あふれる瞬間を経て、キレイに仕上がった時の達成感はたまりません。

I introduced Sato rose & Resin Ver.2 "Blue", it's so deep & interesting!
There's a sense of tension for me but after completion it's so pleased!

レジンをご指導くださったカイロオヒアさん曰く、事前にニスを塗るとそのままの色で仕上がるとのことです。
スプレーニスならあるので、どこかで試してみたいところです。今後のお楽しみということで。

Kaiolohia, who taught me how to use Resin, says that the original color can be kept by applying varnish in advance. I'll try it in the near future.

あ、そうそう。
話は変わりますが、
今年は日本折紙学会の「折紙探偵団コンベンション」の日程が出ましたね。
8/10(土)〜8/11(日)の両日とも参加を考えています。チケット争奪戦に勝たなきゃですね！

I plan to join both Oct 8-11, must get the tickets!

それから、
今年は日本折紙協会の「折紙シンポジウム」にも参加することになりました。
6/30(日)〜7/3(火)の２泊３日、千葉県某所でみっちり折り紙を学んできます。
And also I decided to join Origami Symposium hosted by NOA this year.
It'll be held on Jun 30-Jul 2 in Chiba pref, I'll learn origami thoroughly!

折り紙×レジンの魔力〜15cmの佐藤ローズをコーティングしてみた／Sato rose brooch with Resin

ついに買っちゃいました。
レジンコーティングの機材です！！！
■パジコ製 UV-LEDコーティングレジン「星の雫 GLOSS」
■Aokitec製 UV-LEDネイルライト78W

I got a Resin coating kit!
UV-LED light manufactured by Aokitec, and Resin liquid manufactured by PADICO.

記念すべき最初のモデルは…
やはり、佐藤ローズでしょう！
まずは先日作った「ＨＴかおりんメソッド15cm・ヴィヴァルディDARK RED」。

The memorable first model is...
Needless to say, Sato rose!
I prepared "HT Kaorin's method" with 15cm Vivaldi DARK RED, that I showed on the last post.

続いて、思い付きで作った「ノーマルＨＴ15cm・ヴィヴァルディBUTTER CUP」。
Next, normal HT with 15cm Vivaldi BUTTER CUP, that I made on a whim.

まるでガラス細工のような仕上がり、とても気に入りました。
紙に液体が染み込んで、かなり濃い色になりましたが、これはこれで重厚感があって好きです。
They finished like a glass art, so cool.
Although liquid soaked into the paper and became pretty dark, I like its solid feeling.

細部のザラつきや気泡など、若干の荒っぽさはありますが、初めてにしては良い感じに仕上がったと思います。
それでは、レポートいきましょう！

The surface became a little rough and some bubbles appeared, but it was not bad for my first attempt.
Now let's report!

「レジン×折り紙」の相性の良さは以前から定評があり、私も興味はありつつも手が出ませんでした。
そんな中、縁あってレジンの講座を受ける機会に恵まれたのです。
お世話になったのは、レジンアクセサリー認定講師、カイオロヒアさん・cherry307yさんのお二人。ありがとうございました。
I have heard that Origami and Resin get along with each other, but I haven't played.
The other day I fortunately met Kaiolohia & Cherry307, the official resin instructor, and I joined their class. Thanks so much!

まずは、先日作ったDARK REDのブローチのホコリ対策として、いっそレジンコーティングをやってみようと考えました。

At first, I decided to coat the brooch that I made last time, to prevent dust.

で、図々しくも、同じモデルを買い揃えてしまいました。

Then I boldly bought the same models as them.

まずは、ヴィヴァルディの切れ端でテスト。
うん、大丈夫そうですね。
かな〜り色が濃くなりますが、真っ黒にはならなさそうです。
ロウのようにしっかり染み込んで、なかなか剥がれません。強度は上々。
大きな力をかけるとパキッと割れますが、高い所から落としでもしない限り大丈夫でしょう。

In advance, I tried with a peace of Vivaldi, I thought it'll be fine.
The color will be pretty dark but won't be black.
Resin soaked like a wax and sticked strongly, it won't break unless I drop it on the floor.

いよいよ本番。
中心から外側にかけてレジン液を浸透させていきます。
液ダレ防止のため、定期的に硬化させながら進めました。

It's time to use Sato rose.
Soak resin into the rose from the center to the outside.
To prevent drooping, I hardened it at a certain frequency.

初回完了。
所々に気泡が残ってしまいましたが、すでにカチコチなので仕方ありませんね。
ちなみに裏面からも塗ってます。オモテ面からも浸透はしますが、そのままだとザラザラするので。

First hardening.
Though some bubbles left, there's nothing I can do because it has already been harden.
By the way I also applied to the back side. Resin can soak from the surface, but the back side tends to rough as it is.

表面にザラザラ感が残っていたため、重ね塗り→硬化をリピートします。

Some parts of the surfaces were a little rough, so I applied multiple coats.

よりツルツルになりました。
少々塗り過ぎた気もしますが、まぁ良いでしょう。初回だし。

It became more shiny.
I wonder it might be a bit excessive, it's alright.

続いて、アクセサリーの加工です。
ダイソーで見つけたピンバッジのキットを改造しました。

Then I attached to to the base.
I processed a base of a pin that I found at Daiso store.

完成！
妻にプレゼントしたら、鞄につけてくれました。

Completed.
I presented to my wife, she attached it to her bag.

DARK REDの方は、すでにヘアピンに取り付け済みなので工程は割愛。
こちらは、今年米寿を迎える祖母にプレゼントしました。

Red one has already been attached to a hair clip so I omit the explanations here.
I presented to my grandma, she'll be 88 this year.

あなたのお好みは、どちらでしょうか？

初めてのレジン×折り紙、お付き合いいただきありがとうございました。
不安でいっぱいでしたが、思ったより大がかりな作業にはならず、これなら今後も続けられそうです！
懸案事項は、強烈な青い光なので、夜間にやり過ぎると目が覚めちゃうこと。ギンギンです。

It was my first challenge of Resin, thanks for browsing.
I was pretty nervous but it was not a very complicated work, so I'll be able to continue to play.
There's a one matter of concern, UV-LED light emits strong blue light, so it makes me be awaken especially when using it at night.

青系ヴィヴァルディやクラッポマーブル、和紙など、色々な素材も試してみたくなりますね〜。
ザラザラ感を出さずに、どこまで薄塗りでイケるのか。また、いっそ球体の中にバラを閉じ込めてもいいかも…など、想像は膨らむばかりで。
まぁ、今後のお楽しみということで。ご期待ください。

Resin will be useful for blue vivaldi, clapo marble, and washi paper, I want try various materials!
I expect that how thin I can apply without appearing the roughness, or putting a rose inside the sphere... I'm looking forward to playing in the future. Stay tuned!

佐藤ローズでブローチ作り〜「かおりんメソッド」に15cmで挑戦〜／Rose brooch with Kaorin's method

前回に引き続き、ハイブリッドティーローズのアレンジ「かおりんメソッド」をお届けします。
今回は15cmのミニサイズからブローチを作ってみました。台座はダイソーの髪留めです。

Continuing to the last post, I'll show you "Kaorin's method".
Today I made a brooch by attaching to DAISO hair clip.

素材はヴィヴァルディのDARK RED。

I used Vivaldi "DARK RED".

サイズがいつもより小さい分、余計に厚みを感じます。
折るのはパワープレー、終盤の加工はもっぱらピンセットです。

It was relatively too thick because of its size.
I folded by force, and used tweezers when finishing.

ふだんの倍近く、およそ１時間かけて奮闘し、そこからアクセサリーまでの加工に40分。
慣れない作業に戸惑いながらも、ようやくお披露目できるクオリティに落ち着きました。
では、レポートいきましょう。

It took for almost one hour to make rose, and processed into brooch for 40minutes.
After I struggled with unfamiliar works, it finished in satisfying quality.
Now let's report!

ヴィヴァルディの原寸大（64.5cm×49.5cm）からは24.75cm（≒25cm）の正方形が４枚切り出せるのですが、毎回14.8cm×49.5cmの「あまり」が出ます。今回はコレを活用しました。
ほぼ15cmということで、以前15cmの和紙でＨＴを折ったことがあるから大丈夫だろう…と踏んだわけです。

The original size of Vivaldi(64.5cm×49.5cm) can be cut into four 25cm squares, and there's 14.8cm×49.5cm leftover. I used it.
It's almost 15cm so I thought that I can, because I've made HT with washi paper of same size.

しかし、サイズはもとより「厚み」をナメてました。
いつもの25cmから40%サイズダウンすると、厚みは理論上1.67倍になります。
タントより丈夫でコシのあるヴィヴァルディをまとめ上げるのは「筋トレ」です。
結果的にボリューム感のあるバラに仕上がったので、良しとしましょう。

However I underestimated its thickness.
When the size is 40% smaller, the thickness will be about 1.67 times in theory.
Vivaldi is more durable than Tant paper, so it was hard to fold.
Finally it finished rich, I like it.

折り筋をキッチリ仕込んで、収束を力ずくで乗り切ったら、中心を開いていきます。
で、悲劇は訪れました。貫通です。
だって、なかなか開かないんだもん…

After making creases strongly and assembling by force, open the central petals.
At that time I faced a tragedy. It torn.
Because it didn't open at all...

仕方ないから、裏側から端っこを寄せ集めて穴を隠します。
裏側の穴は完全に塞いでしまうので、コレだけで見えなくなるんですよね。テープで補修する必要はありません。
ちなみにガクを取り付けるだけでも、同様に穴が隠れます。貫通しても途中で捨てず、最後まで完成させてしまいましょう。意外と何とかなります。

I had no choice, so I hid the hole by bringing the surrounding pieces.
The hole will be hidden by only filling the back side with glue, you don't have to use any tapes.
By only attaching calyx, it works.
Even if you tear it, don't trash in the halfway.

外側の折り上げや底の折り込み、花びらの「めくり」。ここはピンセットの出番です。
ピンセットを「道具」と捉えず、あくまでも指先の延長線と考えて動かすのがコツです。指先の機能拡張みたいな感じで。
攻殻機動隊の世界なら、神経細胞まで入れちゃうんでしょうか。

Making petals and the bottom, and finishing the overall shape, tweezers are useful.
They should be handled as extension of my finger, not as a tool, it's like a functional enhancement. If it's in the world of Ghost in the Shell, they puts nerve cells into it, right?

ハイブリッドティーローズが完成したら、かおりんメソッドのハイライト「花びらのカール」を進めます。
通常は丸ペンチを使いますが、それすら入らないので、ここでもピンセットに頼ります。
先の曲がったピンセットは、トリッキーな角度でもグリッと捻ることができるのでオススメです。

After completing Hybrid tea rose, add curls unique to "Kaorin's method".
I usually use pliers, but it can't be inserted because of its smallness. So I used tweezers even this step.
Hook-shaped tweezers are useful to bend twisty tips.

台座への取り付けはグルーガンを使いました。剣咲きのブローチ以来、久しぶりの登場です。
まずは裏側の穴を完全に埋めてしまいます。
台座の位置を決めたら、サイドを補強。
グルーガンをはずす際、先端が糸を引いて尖ってしまうため、なぞる位置や角度を工夫して目立たなくしました。

Attaching to the clip, I used Hot Melt Glue Gun.
First, fill the back side. When fixing the position, reinforce both side.
While removing the Glue Gun, the surface tends to be rough. So I made some ingenuity in position or angle to remove it, and hid the end.

以前に作った剣咲きのブローチは裏側がガタガタだったのですが、今回はそこそこ綺麗にまとまったと思います。かなり丈夫です。

When I made a brooch of "Pointed petal rose" four years ago, the back side was too rough. This time I could make it pretty neat, and it's moderately durable.

もともと曲線を目立たせる本作のスタイルに、ミニサイズ＋厚みが加わり…
思いがけず「丸っこく可愛らしいブローチ」のできあがり。
これはクセになりそうですね！しんどいけど。

Originally Kaorin's method makes its curls stand out, and this time adding the smallness & thickness... Unexpectedly round & cute brooch has born. I like it!

完成後は撮影タイム。
グレーの画用紙（タント）を背景に、シックな雰囲気を演出しました。
当時の時刻は15-16時。やや横向きの自然光を取り入れています。

Shooting time.
I brought a gray tant paper for the background, and create a mature mood.
It was 3-4PM, I let horizontal sunlight into the model.

赤色の作品はグレーとの相性が良いんですよね。黒い影＋グレー背景の同系２色に、ビビッドな赤色。この組み合わせは、黒だけの背景より作品が引き立つのです。
過去に作った「ローズ・ブーケ」でも、撮影時にこの組み合わせを採用しています。

Red model suits well with gray.
Black shadow & gray background, and vivid red on them. These combination highlights the subject.
I have adopted this method when I made "Rose Bouquet" in the past.

普通のハイブリッドティーローズにしておけば良かったのに、なぜ「かおりんメソッド」を選んだのでしょう…15cmヴィヴァルディ初挑戦から、茨の道を選んてしまいました。バラだけに。

Originally I was going to make a normal HT, I wonder why I decided to make such a tough thing. But it was worth it.

写真では分かりませんが、やはり紙なので、ホコリが付きやすいのが気になるところ。
今後はスプレーニスによるコーティングを検討中です。
ほんとはレジンに興味があるんですけど、それは長期目標ということで。

Of course this is made from a paper, I'm worried it tends to get deteriorated.
I intend to varnish it in the future. Actually I want to use resin, in the future...
