日本折紙学会「折紙指導員」取得までの実体験を完全レポート！／Road to the "JOAS Origami Instructor"

今回は、日本折紙学会（JOAS）の公認資格「折紙指導員」についての解説です。
折紙指導員とは、JOASが独自に認定する専門資格で、私は2025年に認定を受けました。

Welcome to Ateliermasanii.
I'll explain about "Origami Instructor" certified by Japan Origami Academic Society (JOAS), that I obtained in 2025.
※This is different from "Origami Instructor & Master" certified by Nippon Origami Association (NOA).

折り紙界隈では、SNSを中心に、作品や書籍、イベントなどの情報が飛び交っています。
一方で、こうした「資格」に関しては、取得までの具体的な流れや活用事例などの情報はなかなか見つかりません。
（資格の存在すら知らない人が大半な印象です）
There're countless informations about origami works, textbooks, and events, especially on social media.
However, we can't find any hints how to obtain or use the license at all.
(I think many people don't even know that the license exists.)

私が知る限り、JOAS折紙指導員に関する唯一の詳細解説は、hanakoさんのアメブロ「おりがみライター日記」。
有資格者の特典や、制度発足の経緯や取得方法などについて触れられています。
私のレポートを読む前に、ぜひ読んでみてください。
事実、私も結構読ませてもらいました。hanakoさんにはいつかお礼を言いたいものです。

This article shows how to obtain the license and the background, actually I red it a lot.

①折紙指導員の要件
日本折紙学会（JOAS）が定める資格要件は、以下のとおり。
【以下、学会HP要約】
・日本折紙学会の会員
　※マガジンの購読のみはNG
・コンベンションで「指導員講座」を受講
　※地方コンでもOK
・指導技術と知識が一定水準
・認定料（＋更新料）

①Requirements
JOAS requires the following,
・JOAS membership (not subscriber)
・Attend a seminar at Origami Tanteidan Convention (Any area)
・Enough skills & knowledge for instruction
・Certification fee (& Renewal fee)
You should check the official website above.

ざっくりいうと、JOAS正会員が、筆記＋実技試験に合格すればなれる資格です。
Simply, the license that the membership of JOAS can obtain if passing the written & practical exam.

日本折紙協会（NOA）の折紙講師は、基礎的な作品を100個折って送り、技量を審査されます。
最後が「妹背山」なので、全体的に難度はそこまで高くありません。
しかし一方で、講師の指導スキルは完全に講師任せなので、良くいうと多様、悪くいうと当たり外れが生じうる制度です。
（もちろん私自身にも言えることなので、気をつけなければなりません。）

The Origami Master of NOA requires to complete 100 basic models to asses the skills.
It's not so difficult that the final is Imoseyama, twin cranes.
However, instruction skills depend on the individual instructor. To be frank, skills may vary.
(Of course I must improve too)

一方でJOASは、「作品の上手さ」を見られることはありません。
代わりに、審査員が目の前で「講習する様子」をチェックするのです。
「難しい作品を折るスキル」よりも、「上手に教えるスキル」が重視されるということですね。
つまり、ガチプレイヤーでも、他者への指導ができなければ落とされるということでしょう。

On the other hand, JOAS doesn't check the skill. Instead, the judge evaluates the class management.
They might think "Teaching skills" is the most important point than "Folding skills". So the player who can fold extremely complex model may fail, if they're not good at teaching.

②申込方法
前述のJOASの公式ホームページの下部に、申込フォームがあります。
氏名や住所、連絡先などのほか、
・参加するコンベンション
・講習作品名
・作品創作者
これらを記載します。

②How to apply
There's an application form on JOAS website.
White down your Name, adress, contact information, and
・Convention that you attend
・Model that you instruct
・Creator who designed that model

プログラムを作る関係上、申込時点で講習作品を固めておく必要があるのでしょう。
It may be necessary to choose the model at that time to prepare the program.

コンベンションに行ったことがある人なら分かると思いますが、ここでの講習は、ほぼ全てが創作者本人によるもの。しかし実は、他人の作品でもOKなんです。
フォームに完答し、申込完了メールを受け取ったら、ほっと一息です。

People who have been to participate the convention may know that, almost all instructors uses their own model. But actually the others' one is also available.
After filling the form and receiving email, application completed.

【展示レポ】CAFE RICCO「２Ｄ展」／Origami exhibition "2D" at CAFE RICCO

アトリエまさにぃへ、ようこそ。
今日は、足立区・竹の塚図書館で開催中の「２Ｄ展」をレポート！

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Today I'll report about the Origami exhibition "2D" at Takenotsuka Library.

普通の展示とは一味違うこの企画。
白い紙で折った作品のフチを黒く塗り、モノクロに仕上げます。
本領発揮は、その先の「撮影」です。
露出やシャドウを思いっきり上げることで「白飛び」させると…
立体作品が「２Ｄの線画」に変身！

This project is far more unique than any typical exhibition.
Make each work with white paper and paint the edge black.
Then take picture of them and edit by increasing the exposure and shadow, till it be overexposed.
After that, they turn into "two-dimensional line arts".

観て、撮って、盛って。
作品の構造美を、三度楽しむことができます。

View, shoot, edit, you can enjoy the structural beauty three times.

そして私。
個性豊かな作品たちが、それぞれ独特のオーラや余韻を感じさせてくれます。

The exhibitors are:

Kaorin, the art director
Kaito Nagayamd, the origami creator
and masanii.
All works have unique and make us feel aura.

開催期間は2026年５月末まで。
ぜひ、現地でご覧いただきたいのですが…

The exhibition runs until the end of May 2026.
I'm happy if you visit the venue, but I'll show a part of them for the people who can't come.

■かおりんさん
ご自身の創作「かおりんローズ」のリースを中心とした作品たちです。
背景は露出アゲアゲで真っ白に。作品のシャドーは適度に残すことで、鉛筆画のように繊細なタッチに。
本企画トップクラスの、完成度の高い一枚に仕上がりました。

■Kaorin
"Kaorin rose" and beautiful works designed by her.
Processing high exposure and moderate shadow, it finished like a pencil drawing, highly accomplished picture.

■長山海澄さん
素材ごと白黒で仕上げた「古代遺跡」。
ねじれる多層に、謎の突起やスイッチ。オーパーツ感満載です。
祭壇から離れると神殿が崩壊するやつですね。持ったら色々吸い取られるやつですね。分かります。
写真加工は、黒光りが際立つ彩度-50。白黒が共存するようハイライトは高め。さりげなく入ってある微細な絵柄を強調しているのがポイントです。

■Kaito Nagayama
"Ancient Ruins" with black & white paper, designed by Kaito Nagayama.
It looks just like OOPArts with twisted layers, thorns & buttons.
I processed saturation-50, high-highlight to coexist black & white. And I enhanced precise patterns.

■ダイスケさん
シマエナガは本企画の中でミラクルヒットの一枚。
素朴な雰囲気がまるで水墨画のようです。浮かせるためのワイヤーも、かえって作品に動きを与えています。
出典は「高雅な折り紙」、創作者は勝田恭平さん。

■Daisuke
"Long-tailed Tit" designed by Kyohei Katsuta
This shot stands out among this project, like a ink painting. Even wires make birds lively.
It's listed in "The Elegance of ORIGAMI".

前川孔雀の横に佇むオブジェは、ダイスケさん創作の三角コーン。高貴な孔雀の横に置くと、ピラミッド感があって神々しいです。
出典は「本格折り紙」。

"Peacock" designed by Jun Maekawa, and "Traffic Cone" designed by Daisuke.
A cone looks like a divine pyramid when it stands by noble peacock.
Peacock is listed in "Genuine Origami.

パク・ジョンウさんの馬と、今井雄大さんのハリネズミ。
出典はどちらも「至高のおりがみ」。
壁紙の波打ちと照明の反射が織りなす、ぼやっとしたタッチを強調してみました。

"Horse" designed by Park Jong Woo, and "Hedgehog" designed by Yudai Imai.
I enhanced the hazyness by wavy wall and lighting reflection.
Both are listed in "New Generation of ORIGAMI".

荒牧遼太郎さん創作の「カレイ」。
背景はあえて白飛びさせず、ざらついたグレーに。古代の岩石の断面から出てきた姿をイメージした「化石仕立て」です。

"Flounder" designed by Ryotaro Aramaki.
I didn't overexposed the background and kept it gray, imaging a fossil in the cross-section of a stone.

前川悪魔と、故 川崎敏和さんの「巻き貝」、ダイスケさん創作の「紙パック」。
これはもう、前川悪魔が主役に決まりです。明度-95、ブラックポイント+90の黒々攻め。仕上げにブリリアンス-60で、手前と後ろのギャップを強調しました。
巻き貝と紙パックが脇役になってしまうほど、禍々しいオーラを醸し出しています。
前川悪魔は、孔雀と同じ「本格折り紙」より。

"Devil" designed by Jun Maekawa, "Snail" designed by the late Toshikazu Kawasaki, and "Paper carton" designed by Daisuke.
Devil stands out extremely. I enhanced the gap among the foreground and the background, by processing brightness-95, blackpoint+90.
It exudes an ominous aura that the other works are paralyzed.
Devil is listed in "Genuine Origami", same as peacock.

■まさにぃ
故 川崎敏和さんの「桜玉」
出典は「折り紙夢WORLD」。
昔から慣れ親しんだ作品で、今の生徒さんにも人気があります。
今年３月に惜しまれつつも逝去された川崎氏。
図らずも本企画がモノクロだったこともあり、２つの桜玉を折ることで、私なりの追悼とさせていただきました。

■masanii
"Sakura ball" designed by the late Toshikazu Kawasaki, listed in "Origami Yume WORLD".
I'm familiar with this model since I was a child, and now also popular among my class.
He was passed away in March 2026.
Unexpectedly we made all works monotone in this project, so I expressed my deepest condolences by making his two great models.

横山文恵さんの「ローズ・ブーケ」
出典は「月刊おりがみ543号」。
先端のカールは、まさにぃアレンジです。
かつて「黎明」「月夜の宝珠」としてお披露目したものと同じ加工ですが、雰囲気が全く別物ですね。

"Rose Bouquet" designed by Fumie Yokoyama, listed in Monthly ORIGAMI magazine No.543.
I applied curves to each edge like my past posts, but this time it has different atmosphere.

あじさい折りおりがみより、「裏表あじさい・１輪」。
６つ組み合わせて立方体にするのは、私がよくやるパターンです。かつて友人の結婚式で大量に作ったのもコレ。
今回は、接合面の大きさを変えた２パターンを用意しました。

Hydrangea listed in "Ajisai-ori Origami", I made six and combined into cube.
I often take that way, like a wedding gift for my friend.
This time I prepared two variations, with different way to glue.

エカテリーナ・ルカシェヴァさんの「Gothica Cube」
２Ｄ展の話をいただいた際、真っ先に作ろうと思ったのがコレ。
「曲線折り」を全面的に押し出すことで、他にない不思議な造形ができました。

"Gothica Cube" designed by Ekaterina Lukasheva
I decided to make this model soon, when I was approached about this project.
It finished in a mysterious structure by enhancing curve creases

エカテリーナ・ルカシェヴァ氏の美しい曲線ユニット「Gothica Cube」の制作動画を作りました！

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Today I'll show a video demonstrating how to make "Gothica Cube" designed by Ekaterina Lukasheva, that has beautiful curves.

2024年の折紙探偵団コンベンションで教わって以来、リピートしていた本作。
オンライン・オフラインともに反響が大きかったのですが、実は折り図が存在しません。
それなら、私がコンテンツを作ってでも、この傑作を紹介したい！と思っていました。

I learned how to make this model at Origami Tanteidan Convention 2024, I've been fascinated ever since.
But this model doesn't have diagrams despite many people like it, so I've been eager to introduce it even if making by myself.

で、先日、
思い切って本人にDMしてみました。

それと、この場を借りて、ルカシェヴァ氏の書籍「Curved ORIGAMI」をご紹介します。
前述のコンベンションで通訳をお手伝いしたら、サイン入りでプレゼントしてくれたものです（もはや家宝）。
日本語ではありませんが、「曲線折り」の技巧や作例が満載なので、ビジュアルだけでも読み応えバッチリ。
これを機に、お手に取っていただけると嬉しいです。

(She gave it to me as a gift with her autograph!)
There're various techniques and beautiful curved structures, it's worth getting.

今日は「公民館まつり」の展示報告です！
私たちのサークルがいつも活動している公民館の、年に一度のおまつり。
写真、絵画、パッチワークなど、公民館で活動している団体にまじり、私たちも作品を持ち寄りました。
地元の人たちに、私たちのサークルの活動をお披露目する貴重な機会。多くの方に足を止めていただき嬉しい限りです。

Today I'll report about an Origami exhibition at local public hall.
We brought our masterpieces among the local club activities, it was so happy that we can show our works.

今年は私を含めて９人が出品。
順番にご紹介していきます！

This year we exhibited by nine members, I'll show all.

🍀🍀🍀

■まさにぃ「無機物色々」
・長山海澄さんの「12本の六角柱の複合体」
・エカテリーナ・ルカシェヴァさんの「Gothica Cube」
かわいい系でもない、複雑系でもない、みんなと被らないマニアックな作品をチョイスしました。
六角柱は先日の記事で初公開。ゴシカキューブは、昨年３月の「CAFE RICCOクラフト展」で飾ったものです。

■masanii "Inorganics"
①"Compound of 12 hexagonal prism" by Kaito Nagayama
②"Gothica Cube" decided by Ekaterina Lukasheva
I made some unique works which nobody may choose.
① was posted last month, and ② was exhibited last March at CAFE RICCO.

■まさくん「生物2026」
神谷哲史さんの「カマキリ」をホイル紙で折ってくれました。
地面や下草の演出もたいへん凝っています！
色んな作家さんの複雑系でスキルアップを重ねつつあるまさくん。最近では私のアシスタントを引き受けてくれたり、県外のイベントに単独参加したり、多方面で活躍しています。
お母様は公民館の会場設営にもご協力いただきました。ありがとうございました。

■Masa "Animals 2026"
"Praying mantis" designed by Satoshi Kamiya, with foil paper. And he set the ground and undergrowth on the floor.
Recently he improves his skills though playing various complex models, and he assists me a lot.
And this time his mom helped with setting up the venue. Thanks a lot!

■Ｃさん（親娘合作）
①ムーミン 日常の1ページ
②ムーミン 浅瀬のたからもの
③サンリオ 集合写真
「かわいい」が詰まった色紙３点！
赤、青、黄色の色紙に、一つ一つ丁寧に作られたキャラクターが詰まっています。
ムーミンは、いしばしなおこさんの「ムーミン折り紙」、サンリオの作品たちは、最近ウチの講座でも人気の「サンリオキャラクターズ折り紙75 」が出典です。

Cute three stories on the boards.
①②is listed in "Moomin Origami" written by Naoko Ishibashi, and ③ is listed in "Sanrio Character Origami".

■はぁちゃんママ
①「森の音楽会へようこそ」
②「季節を感じるリース飾り」
③「花折りスワッグ」
カミキィさんのモデルを中心に、季節感あふれるかわいい作品たちが揃います。
恒例の手書きのキャプションも素敵です。
みんなの作品のセッティングもお手伝いいただき、ありがとうございます。

■Ha-chan's Mom
①Welcome to the Forest Concert
②Seasonal wreaths
③Flower Swag
Charming works mainly made of Kamikey's models. Handwritten captions are also nice.
Mom kindly helped with displaying every exhibits.

■はぁちゃん
①「紙季彩る」
②「紙季折々」
お母様のポップな作風とはまた違った、繊細なあじさい折りや、もみじツルを囲む花々。
くすみカラーや単色の組み合わせも目に優しいです。
出品のたびに多くの人が足を止めるお二人の作品群。今年もこのコーナーは大人気でした。

■Ha-chan
①Folded Colorful Seasons
②Throughout the Origami Seasons
Precise Hydrangea, "Crane with a maple leaf-shaped wings", and flowers around them.
Modest color scheme is also nice.
The works of Ha-chan and Mom always make many visitors stop & look.

■Kouくん「複雑系折り紙」
神谷哲史さんの「エンシェントドラゴン」「カマキリ」、北條高史さんの「ガブリエル」。
今年度から美大生になったKouくん、やってくれました。
えぐい。てか普通に私より上手い。仕上げや色感もたまらんです。
コンベンションに並べても注目されるレベルでしょう。

■Kou "Complex Origami"
"Ancient Dragon" "Praying mantis" designed by Satoshi Kamiya, and "Gabriel" designed by Takashi Hojo.
He's an art student and brought amazing works. Greater than me.
These must be catch the eye even in Origami Tanteidan Convention.

■Keikoさん「パステルフラワー〜やさしい時間〜」
うちのバラエースKeikoさん。
淡い色のバラと真っ白なフレームの清楚感が素晴らしいです！四角ベースに見えないくらい、ふんわりボリューミーに仕上がってます。
一つ一つが美しい、周りの花や蝶たちにも注目です。

■Keiko "Pastel Flower"
She always makes Sato roses beautifully.
Roses with pale colors and pure white frame are so elegant. Roses are made of square (not pentagon), she finished them rich.
Don't miss the small flowers and butterflies.

■Ｎさん
・カーネーションのリース（３種）
・アンパンマンとコキンちゃん
・バイキンマンとドキンちゃん
・ハロウィン
・桜とお姫様
・ひまわり
・フラガール
・ふくろう
今年もたくさんの作品を出してくださいました。
こういう「つるし系」は、遠くからもしっかり見えもらえるんですよね。大変ありがたいです。
Ｎさんは日頃から公民館のロビーに季節ごとの色紙を飾ってくれて、来館者の楽しみにもなっています。

■N-san
・Carnation wreathe ×3
・Anpanman & Kokin-chan
・Baikinman & Dokin-chan
・Halloween
・Sakura & Princess
・Sunflowers
・Hula girls
・Owl
She always brings many works.
The visitors easily find our exhibits by hanging some ones.
And she often displays seasonal works in public hall and many people enjoy them.

そして、当日いらした方のためにコマをご用意くださったMTさん、ありがとうございました。大人気で、すぐに完売でした。

In addition, MT-san bought Koma (Spinning Top) for the gift. Thanks so much!
They sold out soon.

12本の六角柱の複合体〜長山海澄さんマニアックユニット〜／"Compound of 12 hexagonal prism" by Kaito Nagayama

前回に引き続き、無機物特集です！
今日ご紹介するのは、長山海澄さんの「12本の六角柱の複合体」。
３色の棒が複雑に絡み合う、インパクト抜群の構造体です。

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
I made an inorganic origami work again.
This is "Compound of 12 hexagonal prism" by Kaito Nagayama, amazing structure that the 12 sticks intertwined.

１２本の棒は同じ形なのですが、内側に仕込まれた「へこみ」が絶妙に噛み合うことで、ガッチリと固定されています。
「木製パズルに着想を得た」とのことですが、パーツの干渉位置まで計算して折り紙にしちゃう長山さんがクレイジーすぎる（ほめてる）。

12 sticks have the same shape, they are completely fixed by fitting the inner dents together.
This model was inspired by a wooden puzzle. It's incredible that Kaito Nagayama even designed the location where parts interfere with each other.

ユニット折り紙は、数分で作れる単純なパーツを組み合わせることが多いのですが、本作は棒１本１時間の大作でした。
組み上がった時の達成感と余韻はんぱない。

Origami unit works are usually easy to make each part and takes few minutes, but this time it took about an hour.
It was deeply satisfying to finally complete the form.

さて、解説です。
素材は「ケント スターライト」。
柏高島屋の展示会に伺った際にセット購入したもので、カラーはゴールド・シルバー・ブルーダイヤモンドの３色です。

Now I'll explain.
The paper is "Kent Starlight". The clolors are gold, silver, and blue diamond.
I got at an exhibition held at Takashimaya in Kashiwa.

それぞれの棒は、中間にあたる「ユニットＡ」と、その両端をふさぐ「ユニットＢ」の３枚でできています。
棒は１２本なので、必要枚数は計３６枚。
・ユニットＡ：Ａ５サイズ
・ユニットＢ：Ａ６サイズ
つまりＡ４サイズ１枚から棒１本、１２枚で棒１２本＝全てのパーツを作ることができます。


Each stick is made of three parts, one "Unit A (A5)" and two "Unit B (A6)".
That means A4 paper can be one stick, 12 sticks require 12 A4 papers.

筒状にまとめるだけならラクなのですが、棒同士が噛み合う「へこみ」を作るために複雑な仕込みが必要です。

It's easy to make it cylindrical shape, actually the structure is extremely complex creases to make "dents".

まずはユニットＡ。
くぼみの「法面」を２箇所作るので、けっこう時間がかかります。

Unit A
It takes pretty long time to make two slopes that'll be "Dents".

ユニットＢ。
底面がキレイに閉じる瞬間が気持ち良いです。
キレイに閉じなかった場合は、うまく誤魔化せば良いのです。

Unit B
It's so satisfying when the base closes cleanly.
If not, adjust it.

Ａの先をすぼめて、Ｂに差し込みます。
グリッとねじ込む感じなので、そう簡単には抜けません。念のためノリを用意しましたが、まったく要りませんでした。
Ａの芯がへこんだままになりますが、ここは組み立てるとちょうど内側にあたり、見えなくなるので問題なし。

Insert A into B while narrowing the stem.
It'll be completely fixed without glue.
A will remain bent, but they will be hidden inside the structure.

ようやく１２本の棒が揃いました。
単純計算で１２時間。すでに達成感。
初期の頃に作ったパーツは折りが甘いので、折り直しやノリ入れで微調整しておきます。地味ですが、こういう作業はとても大切です。

Finally all 12 sticks were collected, taking about 12 hours.
Some parts that I made in thd early stages were poor quality, so I re-folded or applied glue not to be unfolded. These adjustments are plain but very important.

いよいよ組み立てです。
これがまた大変で、「へこみ」に棒がスコスコはまり…というわけにはいかず。
あっちを組んだらこっちがはずれ、完成したと思ったら色を間違えるというアホをやらかしたので、綺麗に並べてから組んでいくことに。

Assembly
It was not easy to fit each dent together. Easy to collapse, and more, I miss the color arrangement once.
So I played again putting all parts on a table correctly in advance.

３０分くらい格闘した末、ようやく完成！！

Finally completed after 30min!

撮影にも熱が入ります。達成感半端ない。お疲れ様でした。


It was also exciting to shoot. I'm satisfied a lot.

本作をやりたくなった人へ、まさにぃのワンポイントアドバイス。
I left some advice for you.

■作る順番
実はユニットＢ→Ａがオススメ。
Ｂは筒のロック機構がしっかりしており、放置しても開きません。
一方でＡは、クリップで留めておかないと開いてしまうのです。
つまり、Ｂを作っておいて、Ａができたらスッポリはめれば良いわけです。

■The order to make unit A and B
Unit A → B is a better way.
Unit B has a Locking structure on the joint, so it's hardly unfolded.
On the other hand, unit A is easily unfolded unless clipping on.
That means, you should make B in advance and match both after making A.

■折り筋の深さ
ユニットＡ・Ｂともに格子状の折り筋をびっしり付けますが、大半はナナメ線を正確に入れるための布石なので、強烈にプレスしなくても大丈夫でした。
ケント紙はかたいので手が疲れますが、慣れると所々で「省エネ」できます。

■Firmness of creases
Both unit A and B need complex lattice creases.
These are for making diagonal lines correctly, so some of them are not necessary to press firmly.
Kent paper is so thick that the fingers are exhausted, but some lines can be omitted.

■ユニットＢの底面
シュッと閉じてキレイな六角形に仕上げたいところですが、なかなか完璧にはいきません。
私なりの工夫として、工程47-48の段階で、各レーンの中点すべてに目印をつけてから段折りしました。

■The base of Unit B
It has better to close the base a crisp hexagon, but pretty difficult to finish perfectly.
I devised to add marks on each middle point in step 47-48.

折り図にはないステップですが、私のように「精度に自信がない」という人は、一手間かけて不安材料を消しておくと、気持ちよく進められます。

These methods are not in the diagram, but it'll be safely for people who is warried about making it precisely.

最後は内側から指を突っ込んで押さえ込み、外側からしっかりプレス。
あとで勝手に開いたりしないよう、浮いた折り目をここで折り直しておくのです。

Finally, press hard on the outside while holding from the inside.
Re-fold the creases not to be unfolded.

紙の端がちょっとハミ出るのは私的に許容範囲内。めっちゃ正確に折っても紙の厚みのぶんズレます。あらかじめ逆算して折るか、いっそ切り落とすのも手ですね（私はこのままが良いです）。

It's fine that the edge appears slightly. It may be misaligned by the thickness of a paper, even if you fold correctly.
You can calculate the dimensions backwards in advance, or cut it off.

■立体化の前の下準備
板チョコような「出っぱり」を作る、ユニットＡの工程17-20。
（ユニットＢでは工程53にあたります）
谷折り（工程17+19）が正確な「角の二等分線」となるよう、両側から合わせてみましょう。意外とズレてます。ピッタリ合わない、または奥まで折れていないと、不恰好な立体になります。
私レベルだと成功率はそれほど高くないのですが、綺麗にキマると気持ちが良いです。

Step 17-20 in unit A of making a bump like a chocolate (Step 53 in unit B).
Match both layers so that the valley folds (step 17+19) "angle bisector" correctly. This spot tends to be misaligned, and the completed form tends to collapse.
I hardly success it, but it's so cool if done.

■折り図よく見よう
アドバイスではないんですけど、
折り筋の仕込み、間違えやすいです。特にユニットＡ。
単に私がアホなだけなのですが、「覚えた！」と思った矢先にやらかします。
大体の線は最後に隠れちゃうから問題はないんですけど、とっても悔しい思いします。
少しでも「あれ？」と思ったら、折り図をこまめに確認しましょう。私のように赤っ恥をかかないために。

■Look carefully at the diagram
When making creases, I usually take a mistake, especially in unit A. It happens when I felt I understood.
Most of the wrong creases will be hidden inside, but uncool.
You should check once you're not sure, not to regret.

あじさい折り「斜め折り６段ピラミッド」／"Six-tiered Pyramid" with Hydrangea Folding

今日は久しぶりに、「あじさい折り」をやってみました。

Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Recently I played "Hydrangea Folding".

あじさい折りとは、故 藤本修三氏が1990年代に発表した平折りの技法。
テキストは「あじさい折りおりがみ」。
有志グループ「プロジェクトＦ」により2010年に書籍が復刻され、さらに改良＋写真付きの新版が2017年に発刊されました。

This technique was devised by the late Shuzo Fujimoto.
The official textbook was republished in 2010 by "Project F" a volunteer groun of origamists. And the latest one is released in 2017.

その仕上がりの美しさや、一枚の紙から折り出される幾何学模様の不思議さから、ファンの多い名著です。
うちのサークルでも、これを目当てに通うようになった人がいるほどの人気ぶり。

Many people are fascinated by its beautiful structure. Also in my class, some only play it.

今日は、同書の中でもお気に入りの「斜め折り４段ピラミッド」を応用し、6段バージョンを作ってみました。

This time I made "Six-tiered Pyramid", inspired by "Four" listed in the textbook.For now, check out the YouTube video!

さて、解説です。
素材は世界堂で買った「ミランダ」の黒。
B4サイズを正方形にカットしたので、寸法は25.7cm×25.7cmです。
完成サイズは約半分になります。

I'll explain the overall process.
The paper is black Miranda from Sekaido.
I cut B4 size into 25.7cm×25.7cm square.
The finished size will be about half that.

仕込む折り筋は、
・原作の「４段」：縦横20等分＋斜め40等分
・今回の「６段」：縦横32等分＋斜め64等分
構造は全く同じなので、より細かくすれば段数が増えていくわけです。

Creases must be applied,
・4 tiered：20 divisions Vertical+Horizontal, 40 Diagonal
・6tiered：32 divisions Vertical+Horizontal, 64 Diagonal
Both models have the same structure, so the more detailed creases we make, the more layers will be appeared.

簡単に言いましたが、これが中々にエグい。
我ながら、よくここまで緻密に仕込んだものです。この時点で約80分かかりました。
微妙な誤差はありますが、これくらいなら調整がきくので問題なし。

However, its not easy.
It took 80min just to make all creases, so tough.
There're some misaligned ones, but it can be adjusted.

ピラミッドの難所として「複数同時つぶし折り」があります。
「４段」は最大３個、「６段」は最大５個です。
構造さえ理解すれば、個数が増えても普通にクリアできるのですが…問題は、「回数」が爆発的に増えることなんですよね。
４段：1→2→3→2→1（回）
６段：1→2→3→4→5→4→3→2→1（回）
これを四辺でやるんだから、作業量はんぱない。

Hydrangea pyramids have difficult step "Multiple squash fold".
"4 tiered" has up to three, amd "6 tiered" has up to five.
It's not so hard to clear once understanding its structure, but the amount of work increases rapidly.
・"4 tiered"：1→2→3→2→1 times
・"6 tiered"：1→2→3→4→5→4→3→2→1 times
We must do it in all four corners.

おまけに紙が硬いので、指の負担はかなりのものです。厚みのあるカドをプレスすると、指が切れそうになります。
（実際ちょっと切れたw）

In addition, the paper is pretty thick and hard. My hands were exhausted. Actually I cut my finger when pressing the multiple layers.

すべての工程を終えたら、紙が戻らないように全体を強烈にプレスします。使うのはアードベッグ10年の酒瓶です。ゴリッゴリです。

After all the steps, press the whole firmly not to be unfolded. I used ARdbeg 10Y.

一晩放置して、ペッタンコになったところ。
コースターのようになりました。なまら使いづらいコースターです。

After a night, it became completely flat.
It looks like a coaster, but so unuseful.

立体的になるよう、大胆にビヨンビヨンしていきます。

Stretch & shape to make it three-dimensional.

「どうせ立体にするから、事前プレスは不要じゃね？」と思うかもしれませんが、答えはNOです。
手で折ったくらいでは、だんだん裏面のカドが浮いてきて、全体が反り返ってきます。
紙の構造をぶっ壊すくらい強烈なプレスを加えて、必要なところだけ伸ばす。こうすると、綺麗なピラミッド型が長持ちするのです。

You may think it's not necessary to press in advance because it'll spread after all.
However, if you omit it, the back side layers are gradually unfolded and the entire shape will be curled.
Press like breaking down the paper fibers, the pyramid shape will be kept for a long time.

仕込み＋組み上げで通算４時間ほど経過したところで、ようやく完成です！

Completed through about four hours!

サークルのみんなと共に、地元の公民館の市民文化祭に出品しました。

I exhibited an exhibition at at local public hall with my origami class members.

Why I played "Hydrangea Folding" again was meeting with Ms.Satoko Saito at Origami Symposium last year. She is one of the founders of "Project F" along with Ms.Taiko Niwa, Ms. Tomoko Fuse.

余談ですが、今回と同じ「縦横32＋斜め64」の仕込みを利用して、「あじさい井桁・詰め（5×5）」を作ったことがあります。
ピラミッドから「かど変え」のテクを駆使して井桁を作る「まさにぃメソッド」も紹介していますので、腕に自信のある方はチャレンジしてみてください。
当時は15cmの教育折り紙でやってますが、オススメしません。つらいから。

By the way, I've made "Igeta 5×5 (lattice)" with the same creases in the past.
There's "masanii method" which can make Igeta from pyramid easily, you should check if you try.
On the above post I used 15cm×15cm normal paper, but you shouldn't as it's too tough.
